I put up a new theme, the other one got a bit busy on the eyes.

• Proximity sensor doesnt work – buttons are pressed randomly while on a call
• Hitting the top button hangs up the call unless wearing headphones
• If you send a photo sometimes it’ll get stuck and pop up every time you open to photo app

And of course that antenna thing…

Not quite as obvious as Hipster Girl..

Just the amount of hardware that was used between me and my friend driving here – iphone, ipad, macbook, verizon MiFi, ipod nano and a Garmin GPS.

Of course the GPS was the main navigational tool, with the macbook and iphone used occasionally to look up things such as food, accommodations (booked on the road through hotels.com).

Friends that were so enclined could keep realtime track of our location on http://glympse.com, updated from the iPhone, running nicely in the background courtesy of iPhone OS4. This was of course also on Facebook. Of course pictures of interesting things are put online on the fly from the iPhone and a constant flurry og SMS’s (thats txts here in the US) and IMs when needed.

We could have streamed Pandora but did go semi-oldschool with Radio and iPod providing the music.

How things change

Of course all this gadgetry madness would perpetrated by the person not driving at the time.

Is it an invention or re-invention? Hats off to you inventors out there, but I strongly prefer an existing market to creating one from scratch. The companies whose equity I covet didn’t build anything NEW, they just built something BETTER (Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Craigslist, eBay, Zynga etc). In short, the first mover advantage is a crock of shit (most of the time).

I think that is a very good point – a lot of friends ask me about startups as I have done quite a bit in that area. They often seem to lose all faith in a good idea just because someone else is in that space. Dont worry about it. There will *always* be others doing what you do – just do it better and smarter. Yes, that may be easier said than done, but its a good goal to have

I almost always listen to IDM/EDM – which basically is electronic / intelligent dance music, usually with little or no lyrics.

Why? It keeps the energy up with a quick beat and doesnt distract you with vocals you try to follow along with.

I recommend http://di.fm – Digitally Imported – great streaming radio. Either Trance or Chillout works best for me.

I also recommend the ‘Cafe Del Mar’ series of CD’s from Ibiza – its a bit more chilled but still has great energy!
